TERMS OF USE Updated September 30, 2009 Rules are necessary for any community so that it runs smoothly. These terms are not negotiable, nor are they "bendable" in any way. If you are playing in Xanandon then these terms apply to you. If you are under 18 be sure your parents read this with you so you are both aware of the dos and don'ts. Parents, by allowing your child to participate in activities on www.xanandon.com you are giving them permission to buy/purchase items for real money and to participate in the exchange of virtual currency with your consent and to pariticpate in the message boards. If you do not agree, please contact a staff member so your child may be removed from www.xanandon.com. Alright, after much consideration I've decided that the Satchel is no longer a requirement. Suppose you just want to build a house for your pixie... you can do that. Just "purchase" all the elements you want from the various shoppes and create your own page(s). If your url changes please let me know. Yes... you may use items from other sites so long as credit is given on the same page as the item. You may use items you've created yourself so long as you give credit to yourself on the same page. This has not been something we've allowed in the past, but this is my effort to allow you all to be more individually creative with your pixie's. Credit is the key word here... be sure it's easy to tell where you got your items from. This means that even if you got them from Xanandon you'll need to grab a Xanandon banner or small ad or place a text link back to http://www.xanandon.com on the same page as the graphics. It's not necessary to name where each item came from, just as long as the link back is there. Also, if that's all you want to do is build a house for your pixie that's fine. There are no long any participation requirements. Honestly that makes things easier on both of us. If all you want to do is play games on the forum that's fine too, just assignments? okie dokie whatever part of Xanandon you enjoy; then that's the part(s) you participate in Cheesy There are no longer any suspensions or deletions. Older members who have been suspended or removed need only email me to get back in. Now cost... this is something I've pondered over too. I know how tough times are. So I put up a poll. The majority feels that there should be a small fee; so a lifetime membership is now only $4.95. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I know loyal members will accept and abide by this update. New members should introduce themselves. NOTHING in Xanandon is to be copied or redistributed elsewhere for any reason. You may NOT take screen shots to display in forums, emails or websites. You may NOT copy text or graphics unless you are given specific instructions/permisson to do so by the Administration. The ONLY exception to this is that you MAY place your pixie with or without her background on your site so long as you link back to http://www.xanandon.com. This helps to promote Xanandon while at the same time you get to show off your pixie. You may also link to your own satchel so long as you have all the usual no right click, no select scripts installed. There is to be absolutely NO flaming, bashing, hatred, cursing or any rude behavior anywhere in Xanandon. Keep this in mind when leaving messages. If you are found speaking badly about me, my site, my staff, etc. your membership to www.xanandon.com will automatically be terminated without notice to you and you will not receive any refunds of any kind for purchases you may have made. You may not claim to have created Xanandon or any of the art found on this site. If you join the staff as a pixel artist, in doing so you are agreeing to give up all rights to any and all art work you create for Xanandon.com. All of the art you create as a member of the staff becomes the property of Xanandon.com. When you create a Pixie, dress it, create your houses, pages etc. You are giving www.xanandon.com permission to use that content for advertising purposes free of charge. Do not steal from other players! Do not save or copy anything from their Satchels. If you are found taking from another player your membership to www.xanandon.com will be terminated immediately. This especially applies to trading. Once you trade an item it is no longer in your possession. If you are found to be cheating in any way your membership to xanandon.com will be terminated without question and NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. LET'S JUST CLEAR THIS UP NOW: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS GIVEN OF ANY KIND FOR ANY REASON. Do NOT share your login information with anyone. Any member caught allowing others to sign in using their login information will have their membership terminated immediately and without notice. IP addresses are recorded at the time of sign up.If you plan on playing from more than 1 computer it's best to advise Administration so the second IP can be recorded. This is to protect your membership. You are not allowed to play from more than 2 computers and not more than 1 at a time. No Hotlinking!! That means you must host your Satchel and contents received from Xanandon on your own server. (unless otherwise given permission by myself or Sharon) Graphic Use: First of all, anyone who makes something that is used in Xanandon must realize that the item becomes property of Xanandon, and cannot be used elsewhere. All of the pixel art you see that Nana has done to create Xanandon is not available anywhere! The same goes for the items that the pixel artist team create. We cannot use these items in our members areas, and although we claim the copyright to the items creation, they are the SOLE property of Xanandon. What does this mean for you, members?? Well, in all the wonderful creations YOU have made; skins, clothing items, backgrounds, etc, ALSO have become Xanandon property. This means that what you've made cannot be used elsewhere. For now, you may not use Xanandon items for any other purpose other than your Xanandon projects, but this may change in the future. However, if the author prepared the work within the scope of his or her employment or if the work was specially ordered or commissioned, then the work is considered a "work for hire." In this case, the employer or commissioning party is considered to be the author. We have not created this in order to make things difficult for you, but rather to avoid any copyright issues in the future and to prevent our work from showing up in "share groups" and E-Mails and websites. We were a bit lenient with this rule in the past, but since opening Xanandon.com to the public I'm afraid we have to be more diligent. Thank you for understanding and respecting our position on this. These terms may be changed and/or updated at any time. It's your responsibility to be sure you are familiar with the latest version. As a member you are bound by these terms whether you have read them or not.
